I have been using the HP 510 for about a month now, and I am quite happy with it. The soft sip phone calls is a problem, but I will agree that the headset does fix the problem.
The only other problem I do have with it however, is that it will not hold my sip connection for anything longer than 30-40 minutes. If I am on a call, it seems to be fine, but if I am not on a call, and the wi-fi and sip phone are just waiting for either an incoming or outgoing call, after the 30-40 minutes, it loses connection to the wireless network and it wont re-establish it. I have to reboot the phone and reconnect to the network before I can place a call. If I turn the wi-fi on and off to coincide with when I want make my out going calls, it seems okay, but then I lose the ability to receive incoming calls. Other than that, it is a decent phone. I too am hoping for an HP bug fix to solve these problems. Problem though is that the phone volume is very low during SIP calls. Cell calls, however, are loud and clear so it must be a software problem. I've heard that the SIP volume is good if you use the supplied headset or go bluetooth. Other than that, i am quite pleased with it. I use it primarily with Exchange 2007. Hopefully HP will release a fix for the SIP volume problem soon and also have an upgrade to WM 6.1. Are there any good phones that would support Wifi, quad band or at least tri band, be windows based and don't freeze as much (for softphones), and have bluetooth support.
