Not sure why you would want to consider a USB handset, all the ones I've
tried are crap ( only 3 different ones so limited). Now I have noticed
Polycom has a couple but it appears they are only for the Microsoft OCS
platform.
If it is for road warriors, the only good solution is a good headset,
and when I say good one that has it's own DSP soundcard ( we use the
Plantronics DSP-400 or 300 ) , since a lot of laptop sound cards do not
support full duplex. By using these headsets we've eliminated the
soundcard variable which drove us nuts at first.

Personally, I wouldn't pay a dime for any USB phone. Technically from
what I
understand they are pretty much just a sound card. The actual SIP or IAX
stack is still implemented in a software application installed on the
PC, so
you're better off with just a good headset and a softphone like X-Lite.
