I think that very few people would recommend using that card in a production
environment. Any of the analogue cards from Sangoma, Digium, Rhino, Pika and
others would serve you much better.

As for the static, it could be a lot of things, but the first thing I would
look at is your rxgain and txgain settings. Intermittant static can come
from having them set too high. Also, do you know if your lines are clean?
Does the static happen when it rains? When the static happens, does it
happen on all calls for a period of time, and then clear up for a while?
That can be caused by moisture in the Bell circuits. If that's the case, you
should be able to hear it on a regular telephone.
