I never set it up on Asterisk, but I helped somebody configure a PAP2 just a
couple days ago.
Obviously, one must purchase the SIP credentials (they call it
"configuration file", but it's just a Word doc) in order to use an ATA.
I noticed issues with the using it behind a NAT gateway. I usually use a
STUN server and NAT Mapping Enable on the Linksys devices, but with
freephoneline that did not work. Without those, I'm wondering how stable
would the connection be.
I did not have to change the SIP port, I used 5060.
For the Voice Mail, dial *98

I googled and DSLReport shows some help..

I've also bought the configuration file. Took 7 days to get it. File is in
MS office 'docx' format, what is kind of pain to open.

Voice quality is ok most of time. However, tonight incoming audio on
outgoing calls has been absolutely terrible. Strangely, audio on incoming
calls is just fine.

Sometimes you get a message "this call is not covered by your tariff plan"
even if you dial a number that is allowed.

Supports G711 (and G729 but only on outgoing calls). Incoming won't work if
you set it to G729 only.

Caller id with name works on incoming. Outgoing caller ID is sent as a
number only.

SIP port must be set to 80. It won't register if set to 5060.

911 does NOT work at all despite them claiming they need your right info for
911 to work.

Does anyone know hot to check VM from ATA? I've tried 123, 456, 789, 000,
86....
