I understand that.  (and I didn't mean that you need to "run off the the 
other list".)  The larger a mailing list becomes, the more you'll find 
people who are "counter productive" to the project (there are other ways 
to refer to them, but I'll leave it at that).

The major benefit of Astlinux over a full distribution is the amount 
that it is tuned to optimize performance.  I'm assuming the motherboard 
is a mini-itx variant of some sort (based on the /proc/interrupts 
output).  Unfortunately, you may not be able to disable the USB 
controller.  You can turn off things like the floppy and parallel port 
controllers. 

The output of zttest would be helpful.  If you're getting less than 
99.99%, you may continue to have issues.
