Hmmm ... Your interrupts look to be clean ... Well, that blows a hole in my
theory ... Sorry I sent you on wild goose chase ... Your scenario sounded so
much like what I had seen before with shared interrupts in the mix ...

Maybe one of the really smart guys on the forum will come through for you
... This was the only thing that made sense to me ... Sounds like you got
one that is beyond me ...

Gary,
Thanks, the interrupts are not sharing from what I can see. Here is the
output

  0: 5883169 XT-PIC timer
  1: 8 XT-PIC i8042
  2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
  5: 19174 XT-PIC eth0
  7: 0 XT-PIC uhci_hcd:usb2
  8: 0 XT-PIC rtc
 11: 2363 XT-PIC uhci_hcd:usb1
 12: 5844821 XT-PIC wctdm
 14: 31869 XT-PIC ide0
NMI: 0
LOC: 0
ERR: 0
MIS: 0

Not sure that this is the issue.

at the console, run "cat /proc/interrupts" ... suspect you have an interrupt
sharing issue ... the Digium cards do not play well with others and if you
are sharing the interrupt can cause the interrupt to be fired in a cascade
... this is peculiar to some motherboards ... most often, workstation class
mother boards that have a lot of features integrated ... solution is to
disable all unnecessary onboarg gadgetry and try to get that Digium card an
interrupt of its own ...

dont take my suggestion as dogma ... I am not known for being the smartest
guy here ... but I have seen similar and this is what it turned out to be
in my case ... if you get a suggestion that sounds more reasonable, I will
not be insulted in the least ...
