Understood.  You might just copy the few files you need from the extra 
sounds package into /mnt/kd/custom-sounds and reference them as 
'custom-sounds/soundfile' instead.  The reason we're not going to 
include the 'extra' sounds is the shear size of the files versus the 
benefit to most people.  All of that information is stored in a ramfs 
assuming you have enough ram.  It's entirely possible that with all of 
those extra files that you're running out of ram.  Try adding "noram" to 
your KCMD line in your astlinux-XXX.run.conf file.  That will force the 
files to remain mounted as loopback (if nothing else, it gives us 
another data point).
