Hi, all,

This is to reopen the eth2 configuration discussion.

I have a Via PBX configured and would like to insert a PCI RTL 8169
network card to act as a secondary LAN interface.

I can type "ifconfig eth2 up" to get the interface activated, however,
upon checking dmesg, I noticed that both the eth0 and eth1 had a line
"eth0: MII PHY found at address 1, status 0x7849 advertising 05e1 Link
0000" whereas eth2 did not.

If you are using the web interface, in the Advanced User Variables add
as Philip suggests,

BRIDGE1="eth1 eth2"

then reboot, followed in the Network tab, Internal Interfaces, select
"br1" from the menu.

then reboot one more time to apply the last Network change.

Of course, this acts like a "hub" rather than a "switch'.

I have also tried Lonnie's ideas, but br1 is not an option after reboot,
any suggestions??

Kind regards,

Clara
