Upgrading from 0.6.3 to 0.6.4 does NOT touch the asterisk config files 
so there is no possible way that http.conf could be removed just by 
upgrading from 0.6.3 to 0.6.4.  Nothing in the upgrade process does 
anything to change the configuration files.  There must be something 
else going on.

Again, the upgrade process does not change the http.conf file in 
/mnt/kd/asterisk/.

Is there any way I can get shell access into this box?  I don't use the 
Asterisk-gui except in light testing.  Never seen this problem (that 
doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist--you may have just found a 
new and creative way to create a problem).
