That is exactly right. I have been to two different Verizon stores the
first salesmen told me that if the phone talked he'd know because he owns
one. It wasn't until my son figured it out that he even new about it. and
they know nothing about app accessability. A free phone isn't worth it if
the apps that are important to me aren't available on the droid. Has anyone
with the iphone seen the phone protecter that was designed to make the phone
more accessible? I only heard a few comments and they weren't all that
positive.

While I completely understand money constraints, that $200 is a
well-worth-it investment. If talk and text is your pleasure, then the droid
may be ok. I really will have to make a trip to check one of those out,
because honestly I haven't see one work. I'm not knocking the droid's
capabilities, and I'm glad that people are able to make use of free phones,
finally! However, I haven't heard much positive in the way of
accessibility. The IPhone however, is really an all-in-one device. It's
everything you would want in a device for the blind, and someties it even
includes the kitchen sink. (smile) And, the accessibility is only growing.

Thankyou. So it is fairly easy to type with out having to always have an
external key board. I was afraid of the no so many accessible apps. So it
looks like I should be looking more toards to iphone wich I actually really
want, but I wasn't sure about the typing, I use texting allot.

Lots more apps, but Not as many accessible apps. At least that's my
understanding. I text and E-mail with my iphone on the screen all the time.
Try it before you give up. Works better if you turn on touch typing mode.
Then when you raise your finger, it types.

Hi all;

I am in the market for a new cell phone. I love the I phone but I liked to
text and email and I feel that I would need a key board at all times. I
heard the droid at least some have key boards. Does the droid offer as many
accessible apps as the I phone there are so many.
