>>>>> DK == David Kastrup [2006-10-2] This discussion in itself has some interest; however it risks being, as it is customary with this particular topic, too much heated. I would like to comment, but unfortunately at this moment I am not in a position to discuss with a pace as fast as you do; therefore I will just refrain myself from commenting, but for what follows.
DK> Anyway, I just got back the reply from Richard Stallman, and we can DK> leave off the front and back cover texts and invariant sections (the DK> license text itself will be excluded from being covered by the GFDL DK> since it obviously is not subject to modification). This is very good news, and shows that RMS can listen to practical problems, if they have no political downside (not that I would doubt of it). [...] DK> No part of AUCTeX will end up in Debian non-free without Davide DK> having to bend Debian rules even slightly. This is a better DK> situation than that of Emacs itself, and I am grateful to be able to DK> save users and developers the respective hassles. I would like to make it clear that I do not see the need to fork anything, manual included. I'm happy with how AUCTeX is being developed and with how David is doing as the AUCTeX maintainer. I support AUCTeX being a GNU project. I shall not follow any fork: Debian will continue to include upstream AUCTeX, at least for what depends on me and with the current situation. -- Thanks, Davide _______________________________________________ auctex-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/auctex-devel
