Re: Discussion of the 2020 American Federal Election
Uh, sorry defender, it actually is bad. States have insentive when expanding medicade. Also, remember the importance of aftercare after treatment for an accident, or preventative care, like vaccenes. If people get cheap insurance or pay an arm and a leg for it, they may not do preventative care or chekcups to not pay the premiums. Also states have insentive with medicade and such, so alot of red states pushed back against ACA medicade expantion, and didn't, even though it would be of no cost to them, because it meant helping those in need. Sure, you can declare bankrupsy, but are you aware how much of a financial disaster that would mean to someone. Literally overnight, if someone got air lifted to the wrong hospital and their insurance refused to pay, you sell your house, everything of value to discharge the debt, which probably won't be enough. Also, that will stay on your credit for 10 years, and noone will ever extend you any credit during that whole time. Don't forget if you lose your job, insurance? gone.. Oh, and before the ACA, which republicans are only to happy to do away with, blind people could be legally be denied for insurance, or likely if someone accepted, they would charge extortionate premiums for the same service. The whole private insurance to screw everyone over is fundementally broken. Also one thing you might not have known, even though medicade might seem to pay everything and be good insurance, its not. Medicade pays significantly less than private insurance, so like especially in red states doctors have the right to refuse to see medicade patients or to refuse to treat them.
