I installed the 2006-03-06 build of 6.2.2 and it seemed to me that the sound quality improved. That version also installed a newer firmware version (v35?). I have later installed 2006-03-20 which didn't make any difference to 2006-03-06. I suspect that it is the firmware that did something. If I get some spare time this weekend, I can try to do some testing.
