It's been covered many times, but briefly to answer your question: Yes,
to all the above. If the SB3 is your only source, and the output voltage
is high enough to drive your amp to loud enough levels, then by all
means, removing the pre-amp can save money AND improve sound in one
fell swoop. You may want to use passive attenuators, if the SB3 output
is TOO high for your amp. Some people have had that problem. Ideally,
you would use the SB3 near it's max volume. You probably don't want to
forego the pre-amp, if it means running the SB3 at very low levels.
