A few things to be aware of - since you'll be using the digital outputs, your volume control will be digital, which I think most would agree is less than ideal, because it can introduce rounding errors etc. (unless of course the DAC-1 has a volume knob, in which case you can use that).
In general I think it's better for the volume adjustment to be in an analogue part of the audio chain. Another possible issue is an error which has occasionally ocurred where the SB suddenly starts outputting white noise at max volume. I don't know the current status of that, or if it affects the digital outs or only the analogue - you'll have to search the forums - but it can be a problem if the max level is too high and blows your speakers... -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22815 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
