Yeah - certainly the simplest equalizer I can think of (a bunch of RLC band pass filters) will totally destroy the phases. [QOUTE] I believe that proper phase relationships between frequencies within music are critical. The human ear/brain is very sensitive to phase differences (at least above 200 hZ). But it is only my belief, not proven fact. I'm happy to accept that, but I'm asking why don't all the other elements in the audio chain do just as much damage to the relative phases as an equalizer? Just as an example, a speaker cross-over by itself will induce a phase difference between everything above the crossover frequency and everything below, no? -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22118 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
