You know, the gravitational field of the moon and planets in our solar
system act on the earth's atmosphere. The effect is similar to tides:
if a planet is directly over our heads the atmosphere will be slightly
less dense than if it is off to the side. When the atmospheric
pressure is lower, the phase-asymmetry of sound waves in air mentioned
earlier in this thread will be more significant. Of course, to hear
this you need a very revealing system, so if you haven't noticed that
when the moon is in Virgo with Cancer ascendant you music sounds a bit
dull, it's probably due to not having refrigerated your cables for long
enough.

To compensate for this I'm going to design an amplifier which consults
an astrologer each time you turn it on, and then adjusts for the
gravitational field of stars and planets to reduce the distortion. It
will be as if a veil has been lifted from the music... listening to old
recordings, you will hear elements you never noticed before. Highs will
be amazingly detailed, but never fatiguing, with rich and accurate bass
rounding things out. My new amp will be priced at a mere $100,000 - an
extraordinary price considering what you are getting.

Any takers?
