As I see most of you guys have near bat ears. Is that a genetic
requirement for an audiophile? ;-)

I'm 50 and get lost somewhere between 12.5 and 16 kHz, definitely not
16 kHz.

In average the hearing loss of the higher frequencies is much much
higher than you report. I would recommend this nice site:
www.roger-russell.com/hearing/hearing.htm.

But the basic question remains, do we have to bother with the high
frequency response of our systems? Say above 16 kHz? Knowing also that
these frequencies are the easiest to absorb (and simply disappear) in
average listening room?
