A friend of mine, who is a recently retired Naval aviator, has 20/10 vision. As of this year. He is my age (41). Suffice to say, he, like you, is well on the winning side of the bell curve. Kudos!
My father -- and this scares me -- is quite hard of hearing, in his mid-sixties. I have to talk loud and close, while looking at him, for things to register. No rock concerts, machines, and other consistent sources of loud noise. Just natural decay...which I fear might run in the family.
