Wow..this is good to know (because of my regard for steve @EA). I guess even after some mods, the SB3 may not beat some transports, for all of the the mods I know of (Bolder, Red Wine) none of them deal with changing the clock into a much more accurate one. (I can live with this, because I dont want to spend the big bucks for the cutting edge, I just want to be there 'somewhere in the ballpark'). BTW, with the Oracle or Northstart, does a CD polish (like Walker Vivid or whatever) or a mat make a difference ? If yes, it is so so weird !!! The Squeezebox frees me from all this annoying tweaks. I could never be sure that I am getting the best playback (did I polish, do I have to do it again, did I forget to put the mat one..etc). (Right now breaking in a Bolder Elpac power supply, will spring for the digital mods soon) -- SoftwireEngineer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SoftwireEngineer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7000 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27452 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
