Wireless has not really developed to this level yet, The Squeezebox has
a buffer and often users compression so works well with wireless, with
what your friends are after the signal always needs to be life with no
interruption or slowdown, problem is with most solutions that are out
there if you walk between the transmitter and receiver it drops out
because it has no buffer to fall back to.

You may be interested in these powered speakers I sell them over here
in Australia and am very impressed with them for the price and I am
considering using them as rear speakers in my home theatre.
http://www.audioengineusa.com/ . They are powered and the Squeezebox
can plug directly into them. Still the speakers require one power
cable and one speaker cable from one speaker to another and the
Squeezebox requires a power cable too. IPOD and airport express can
connect to them too.
