Thanks to all of you for the varied suggestions. I also appreciate the varied opinions and the attempts to qualify these. However, this thread doesn't need to deteriorate into an argument between those who believe that modded power supplies make all the difference and those who do not. All opinions are valued!
The only way of definitively answering whether or not there is any difference between power supplies is to conduct a randomized, double blind test with multiple participants, all following the same testing protocol. Obviously, this is difficult from a logistical point of view and, consequently, we have to rely on limited tests. So unless a group of people conduct a randomized test, these arguments/discussions aren't going to be resolved anytime soon. My suggestion is that we keep providing opinions, backed up with as much evidence as possible. In that way, individuals can make decisions based on the best possible info. I, for one, plan on picking up a modded Elpac in the near future, not because I am convinced that it will make a difference but because I would like to confirm that it does not.
