Many thanks guys

Inguz - I tried setting flatness to 10 and that definitely helps -
certainly some of the high end has come back, although the sound is
still very "thumpy" / heavy. I have 3 questions
- what does Flatness actually do?
- what does "No Correction" do? It clearly makes a huge difference to
the sound!
- finally the volume is much lower. I guess this comes from the fact
that you can't boost frequencies since you may get clipping in the
digital domain, so you have to lower the volume of everything else to
achieve the same effective result?

highdudgeon - the null around 80Hz must be a room thing as you say. I
have the speakers toed in and 3ft from the back walls and 6ft from the
side walls but better try again! My old ESL 57s worked very well there.
When you say acoustic treatment behind the speaker, what do I do?
Aesthetics are definitely a concern.

Totoro - thanks for the DRC files. I will definitely give them a go as
soon as I get a chance - hopefully this w/e.
