tomjtx > were you streaming files to the TP or using it as a DAC, there is a big difference in my system. If they weren't lossless or full file it's not an apples to apples comparison.
I was using my TP as is streaming lossless WAV files to it. So the comparision was between the TP and the Arcam CD82T with only slightly different connectors. I could have taken those out of the equation as well with lots of cable plugging and unplugging but I doubt they would change my view that basically both setups are equivalent when played through my amp/speakers. I am tempted to take all the kit down to my local hi-fi shop and connect it up to a top line amp/speaker combo and see if a difference between the TP and CD player can't be found. The sound is only as good as your weakest component really and in my setup I don't think this is the TP (or the CD player).
