First, I've never been able to understand how anyone could do an A/B
comparison regarding 10awg vs. 12awg dedicated lines.  The only way
would be to install one of each, and then plug all your gear in one and
then the other, right?  I've not known anyone who would go through that
kind of trouble.

For my own dedicated lines, I ran 12awg on my 20A lines because that's
what the electrical code states what was right for my situation (I
think much is based on the length of the run).  I have no idea if my
system would have sounded better had I run 10awg, but I like the way my
system sounds regardless...

As far as getting more than one line, if you have the opportunity to do
it, I say yes...then use one for your amp, and the other for the rest of
your gear.  I would use two separate wires...
