Well, it doesn't have to come up in every comment or thread. Blind testing is a tool, like a voltmeter. If someone suggested we never mention voltmeters, wouldn't you find that a bit odd? But blind testing is actually a lot more useful than a voltmeter, because it tells us what we really want to know - whether we can hear a difference.
