Really? 

This of course hasn't been tried with every transport, but I've seen
reports on several (maybe 5) such comparisons.  In not a single one
could people tell the difference; that is, I've *never* seen a blind
test in which the participants could distinguish between any two
transports or DACs.  Have you?  That's rather telling, don't you think?
These are tests done in good faith, by audiophiles or by researchers.

As for proven, it's just what I said - those tests prove that the
participants could not reliably distinguish under the circumstances of
the test.  While that doesn't prove there is no difference, it provides
very strong evidence that the differences are very subtle and probably
inaudible.  I'd be happy to be wrong - it makes life more interesting
to have more meaningful options!  So I'm always looking for tests like
that with a positive result - do you know any?
