It is possible to record uncompressed DVD-Audio with the PC
DVD-recorder, e.g. with Minnetonka discWelder Bronce
("With discWelder Bronze, you can import all Linear PCM formats
supported in the DVD-A specification, including non-encoded/
uncompressed surround (consisting of up to 6 channels of 24-bit, 48KHz
audio), and/or high-resolution stereo (two channels of 24-bit, up to
192KHz audio), in WAV or AIFF file format. Surround and stereo tracks
may be used on the same disc, and a discWelder-burned disc will play on
any DVD-A player that supports DVD-R/RW". See the Web page there).
I already made some DVD-Audios (LP -> Alesis Masterlink, 24Bit/96kHz ->
AIFF-File -> PC -> diskWelder Bronce -> DVD Audio),
but now I listen directly to the output of the Alesis Masterlink.
When the squeezebox is ready to play 24Bit/96kHz, I'll transfer the
tracks to the slimserver music library :-)
