Buffer or cache?

Skunk's more the expert on that, but you don't want the drive to cache
when ripping, at least with EAC, because re-reading will be defeated. 
It'll always read back from cache, meaning every re-read will be the
same.  It'll always "work" even though it really didn't.  There's a
checkbox in EAC to cause it to overwrite the cache so this doesn't
happen.
