I have a DS Shrek v2 NOS DAC, which I used for around a year, for the money a good piece of kit. As already stated, does "natural" very well. My only drawback was that some of the newer upsampling DACs show up a lack of both detail and "air" around instruments. It really comes down to what you're looking for and also system synergy.
My personal favourite for peanuts is the Behringer SRC 2496, which in modded form, is very close to the Bel Canto DAC2 that I presently use. -- Mr_Sukebe SB+, Behringer 2496DEQ, Bel Canto DAC2, Bel Canto Evo2i, Impulse Ta'us, Coherent cables, Stillpoints ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mr_Sukebe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10609 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34717 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
