Darren Having a number of digital sources has meant that using a separate DAC is the most flexible solution for me, however, managing the level of jitter on the link between the source and the DAC is not straight-forward. Here's a link to a discussion on the Meridian 518 and Apogee Big Ben:

Sure enough, having the master clock located in close proximity to the DAC certainly seems to help. Also aided by the reduction in interconnects and power cables (btw, top-quality cables and power conditioning makes a huge difference with the SB3/SB+/Transporter). I don't think you can go wrong with the SB+, it's an engineering marvel for the price.
