Having a number of digital sources has meant that using a separate DAC
is the most flexible solution for me, however, managing the level of
jitter on the link between the source and the DAC is not
straight-forward. Here's a link to a discussion on the Meridian 518 and

The post that caught my attention was by 'void', his comment was what
prompted me to try single-box solutions such as the Wadia 861se, SB+
and Transporter. Sure enough, having the master clock located in close
proximity to the DAC certainly seems to help. Also aided by the
reduction in interconnects and power cables (btw, top-quality cables
and power conditioning makes a huge difference with the
SB3/SB+/Transporter). I don't think you can go wrong with the SB+, it's
an engineering marvel for the price.
