Fair Enough, I understand your concerns. But that is why I am here. I
want to be able to base the review on the SB in the best possible
configuration. From what I hear, I am not at that point yet.

The Benchmark DAC1 USB worked well with a laptop and I-Tunes. So I had
no issues there. But I am willing to consider re-formatting the hard
drives and installing a different program. Although I-Tunes was not my
first choice. I started with FOOBAR, got it installed but the
navigating properties of the program were confusing at best. I spent an
afternoon working with it, and never did get a disc proeprly installed
in the library. Heres a catching point with me. For compter audio to be
the future of hi-end audio it needs to be straightforward to use. One
shouldnt have to be a first rate keyboard jockey in order to experience
the benefits of the format. I downloaded another....forget which
one...but it kept crashing durning the install process. That led to the
use of i-tunes. Simple to set up, and well supported. But like I said, I
am willing to start over in order to get the review right.

The system its being used on is a Dell Laptop(my desktop died and is in
the process of being re-built). The laptop has a small intrnal HD, so
everything must be stored on a pair of Western Digital 250G external
hard drives. An Action-Tech wireless DSL modem is the transmitter.

On the audio side the sytem will feed an Audio Magic Kukama DAC via a
Audio Magic Illusions 4D digital cable. Amps are a pair of
Electra-Print 300DRD's. Pre-amp is a Electra-Print PVA. Also have a
pair of Monarchy Audio SM 70 PRO amps. Speakers are a pair of Audio
Nirvana Super 12 drivers in a Cain&Cin built cabinets. All cabling is
Audio Magic Illusions 4D, except power cords which are off the Extreme
series.

I chose to post to this forum so I can get the information necessary to
get this review right. Personally, I find the SB a great product from a
user standpoint. I just want to find out if its audio capabilities are
up to being used in a high resolution system, or is it more of a
life-style product.
