Hello all, new to the forum and Squeezebox so I thought I would pick your collective brains for some advice.
I have a Squeezebox 3 which is currently (and temporarily) connected to my Panasonic SC-HT70 home cinema system running in wireless mode - obviously not ideal. I would like to start using my Claymore again but rather than rush headlong into something with 'adequate' performance, I would like to realise some of the potential of the Squeezebox. Before being mothballed, the amp was connected (via 79 strand) to Celestion Ditton 15's with a JVC turntable and Sony CD player and to my untrained ear, the collection sounded good. I've since lost the Celestions and no longer use either the turntable or CD player. Also marriage has forced out the "old-fashioned" and "ugly" system in favour of a shiny (and tiny) new Hitachi separates system which, frankly, sounds like s**t. I dont have huge amounts to spend but feel I should give the Squeezebox a fighting chance by changing the power supply and adding quality speakers/interconnects. Any advice on where to look and what to buy would be really appreciated.
