I had one of the very early Claymores, (think it was 1985 I bought it) and cost about £350 which in those days was a large sum of money. Sold it about 3 years ago after it had lay in my loft for 10 years doing nothing. Do you still have the gold plated plug? Anyway, I found that you needed reasonably sensitive speakers to get the best out of the amp as it wasn't overly powerful (50W I seem to remember). The last time I had it up and running it was driving a pair of Ruark something's (floor standers) and they sounded damn good, much better than the Linn Kabers I was using. Like everything else it'll be suck it and see.
