As a new SB3 owner I appreciate the effort made by members of this forum to share their experiences. After reading here about the Farnell / linear PSU I also bought one, and have been using it for the past week.
Although the improvement I've heard is not as marked as that experienced by some other members, I can still recommend it as a cost-effective upgrade to the supplied "wall wart" switcher. I found that the bass is a little better defined, and there is less 'edginess' to the overall presentation. For the benefit of other Aussies and Kiwis who may read this, it's available by ordering direct from Farnell - search for their p/n of 1176264. A few of things to be aware of: 1) it's shipped from the UK (but only took a week after order to arrive) 2) it comes supplied with a UK-style AC plug (not an issue for me as I have an Eichmann power board) 3) it runs hot and consequently does smell a bit for the first few days of use. Please see attached photo to get an idea of how big it is compared to the SB3 & original PSU.
