I agree with the memory thing. In that sense I agree with you that
long-term A/B tests (blind or sighted) are always going to be subject
to fading memory.

But your long-term test of "am I really enjoying this or is it annoying
me" is still possible blind! And you could do this for several sources
blind and compare notes. (I am not arguing this would be convenient or
practical, just that it would be way more reliable than the equivalent
sighted listening.)
