Did some more extensive testing.
as far as now, the ONLY really reliable way to use the TP as a DAC is
to NOT use the digital input plugin from SS at all, but using the
native menu within the TP to activate the desired input.

For the ones not knowing where to do that:
when in the root of the TP menu, press+hold left, you'll then
disconnect from SS, and you are presented with a connection menu, here
you can connect to any digital input, or back to SS.

You can really connect and disconnect at will, done this over 20 times
now, and this really works reliable.

This is far from desirable, as you really disconnect the player from
SS, but for now, this is a good work-around. Hope this helps anyone
trying to get it to actually work as a DAC.
