I have less faith in human nature. I wouldn't attribute this behavior to naively thinking the best of modders, but rather to the old human impulse to acquire status. There's a market for luxury products (and always has been) not so much because they're intrinsically better, but rather because they're expensive - if you can afford them it's a symbol of wealth and power. In this case a simple $2000 Transporter isn't exclusive enough, so it needs to be modified, and then the modifications need to be talked up so as to maximize the benefit. -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39093 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
