I have some sympathy for that view. My Transport->Arcam Solo->B&W CM2 is neutral and balanced, but then 90% of my listening is chamber music. For rock, I get more sense of having a party from the den system of Turtle Beach soundcard->Onkyo CS-515 Micro System->Wharfedale Diamond 9.
