Well of course that's why I qualified the statement about the NAS. A computer will do perfectly if you have the sort of home enviroment where you can hide it away. Power consumtion is, of course a different consideration.
I downloaded the latest version of EAC, and I personally didn't find it hard to use. Looking through the EAC guide in this forum, it seems that the latest version has a much better interface than the one described, and accuraterip is now all built in. On the other hand, my main job is in IT, so I am computer literate, albeit not in networking. Also I am prepared to put in the time, as I believe the whole topic to be interesting and a big pointer to the future. However my original point still stands - to most people it isn't a plug, play, (then tweak) solution, and as such is harder to market, and to review. Anyway, I can't wait till I get my hands on the Transporter I just hammered my plastic for, and to see just what I can get out of it. :))) -- bigfool1956 David Ayers Music is what counts, hifi just helps us enjoy it more ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bigfool1956's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39438 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
