I know the topic of speakers has been covered a lot in these forums, but my situation is slightly different so please bear with me and i hope you can help....
I am looking to upgrade my current loudspeakers. I have a maximum budget of about £400. My current setup is a Cambridge Audio Azur 640A Amplifier, Squeezebox 3 and Wharfedale Diamond 8.1 Bookshelf Speakers (on stands). My CD player is now redundant. I am looking to get a little more clarity and separation (is that an audiophile phrase?) in my music. My original intention was to purchase some floorsanders, and that is still a perfectly viable option. However, without my CD player my hi-fi rack has only my amp and Squeezebox, so I began to wonder if another option would be to get rid of this piece of furniture and use powered speakers instead (my amp is only attached to my Squeezebox, nothing else). This is my main system and is in a fairly room, so I do not want to lose any quality or power (power/volume now is just fine). So my question is, for my budget, would I be wiser upgrading my current setup, or ditching the amp and going for powered speakers instead? And whichever is true, does anybody have any suitable recommendations? Thanks in advance for your time. -- PLynas ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PLynas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11960 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43944
