I have to agree with everyone else thus far and say keep the Cambridge
integrated amp. Try finding a nice set of second hand speakers if you
can. I have purchased a fair amount of audio equipment second hand/demo
and I've had very little trouble.

The key to getting the most bang for the buck is to try and find high
quality items from lesser known, but still first rate, manufacturers.
For example I picked up an Audio Refinement integrated amp for my
bedroom system and unit sounds great. I'm also a big fan of Energy
speakers from the Canadian manufacturer. Since it would seem that you
live in England (quoting prices in pounds) and England is the home of
many fine speaker makers, most of whom make good to excellent quality
mid sized speakers, hopefully you won't have too much trouble finding
something very worthwhile.
