For that price and in response to your needs for more clarity and
separation the NHT Classic Three is a perfect choice. According to many
reviews in circulation this speakers have class leading resolution and
separation, they have received many awards and the company offers great
support, try scheduling an audition, you wont be disappointed, I have
heard them many times since my father owns them (I helped him audition
many others in that price range before we both decided for the nht's),
apart from great sound they are really well made and extremely good
looking.

Follow the previous advice of staying with your cambridge, powered
speakers start being an serious option if your budget quadruples....
