The study it quotes is the AES study that's been knocking around the forums a while. Certainly the study doesn't prove anything (you can't prove a negative). But it was a golden opportunity to show that 16/44 and SACD are distinguishable. In this study, it seemed no-one could consistently do this. Even cutting by various demographics none of the scores exceeded 50% to a statistically significant degree. And of course the overall score was almost exactly 50% too (a shade under) over 554 tests. This is the score you expect if people are guessing randomly. As I said, it doesn't prove anything but this news won't make me repent and rush out to buy SACDs.
