I think you're being given poor advice. If you only have a single source, connecting the TP directly to the NAP250 will give a better result. Knock the TP attenuators down by -10db or more to give you a sensible volume range.
When I had Naim kit here, I tried an SB+ directly to the power amps and via a NAP82 + 2 PSUs, and direct was at least as good.
