Frequency response and colouration isn't the issue. Naim power amps can
be driven into instability if they receive lots of high frequency
energy, so their preamps bandwidth limit the signal to avoid this. But
they are still essentially flat within the audible range.

It strikes me that with modern digital sources playing 44.1kHz
material, there is unlikely to be any high frequency energy to worry
about, so perhaps the need for bandwidth limiting is no longer
relevant?
