I find it very surprising that (I think) I am the only one researching this further with google searches. What I have learned over the last week or so
- the 2000 paper was the final result of 20 years (!) of experiments in which period other papers on the subject were published. Oohashi already discovered the Hypersonic effect in 1991. - it doesn't work with hypersonic headphones!!! must be speakers. If body and face are shielded from the HFCs... it doesn't work! - it might even be explained by evolution of species where it lead to echo-location with dolphins etc. - that after 2000, special audio kit (SACD player) and a custom SACD disk was developed with test-sounds and songs incl. other than gamelan music. It even includes vocal (no instruments!). - that more research papers were released than the discussed one: 1991, 2001, 2001, 2003, 2005 etc. - that they are already developing therapeutic methods based on the hypersonic effect, for treating brain diseases. - that even Berkeley knows about it ;-) The following will give you a start: (the PDF's are very interresting papers from our Japanese friends again. You get all the spec's of the kit used etc. etc.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypersonic_effect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultrasonic_hearing http://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/ast/24/4/197/_pdf http://www.arraytherapeutic.com/library/articles/HypersonicEffectBody-Ear%20study.pdf http://www.icad.org/websiteV2.0/Conferences/ICAD2002/proceedings/Oohashi.pdf http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~ashon/audio/Ultrasonics.htm http://www.arraytherapeutic.com/research/index.html cheers, Nick. -- DeVerm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DeVerm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18104 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54077 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
