Maybe bring in some Wadia designers to > get it right? The difference between the Wadia and Transporter is that the Wadia only has to play a CD, while the Transporter runs much more complex software. E.g. you can't synch four Wadia cd players like you can four Transporters, or listen to internet radio etc. The only potential for non-music output from the CD player is if the disc skips, while with Transporter there is a much higher possibility for a software glitch. As far as the digital attenuation, Wadias appear to function very much like the Squeezeboxes: http://wadiastore.com/technology/technicalpapers/Digital_Volume_Control_2.pdf Whereas the Transporter one-ups them by adding adjustable analog attenuation inside the device to maximize the signal to noise ratio/ limit the maximum output level/ and still provide the convenience of a remote controlled digital attenuator. -- Skunk http://www.last.fm/user/TheSkunk/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Skunk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2685 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55246 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
