No, all you need are some attenuators to match max levels. The potential problem is that if the TP firmware goes wacky, it may output white noise. With a direct connection, this may be loud, and may drive your amp or your speakers to smoke. But if you put some attenuators in the line, so that when the TP is running wide open, it does not cause your ears to bleed, then you will be fine.
