I've been following this thread wondering what I would do in your situation...
There are some simple things to check: 1) IS the excessive sibilance present at all volume levels? If it is, the problem does not lie with the power amp - more likely to be pre-amp or speaker related. 2) Are you sure the speakers are correctly wired in-phase internally (I've seen some speakers leave the factory with the tweeter wiring inverted on one side) - use a white noise phase signal to check 3) to eliminate pre-amp overload set the TP internal attebuators to -10dB 4) There's a difference between "sibilance" and "brightness" although they can appear to interact - raising HF levels will exagerate any inherent sibilance in the recording, but what you describe sounds more like some kind of frequency dependant distortion, not just over-hot treble response. Do you have access to "So" by Peter Gabriel? - either the original CD or the remaster? This is a critical test disc because it has a very prominent close-miked "hard" vocal sound on several tracks (handled better in the later remastering, but still there) which can sound unbearable on some systems, but just great on a system that has a well controlled mid-top end. At the same time, it has some gut-wrenching bass underneath... 5) Eliminate the TP by trying another source - there is a remote possibility the analogue section of your TP may be faulty... also try with/without the PS Audio DAC in the chain. 6) The SF GP Home/Domus has a response peak at roughly 5kHz which is in the danger zone for a "peaky" sibilant sound - try other speakers with your gear.
